Building Better Futures
Growing up in poverty, children face tough challenges: hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education.
Goal
$47,00
In the heart of marginalized communities, thousands of families endure grueling conditions at brick kilns, a symbol of entrenched poverty and exploitation. These workers, often trapped in generational cycles of debt, toil for meager wages under harsh conditions. Despite their labor, education remains an unattainable dream for their children, perpetuating a cycle of illiteracy and poverty.
The Reality of Brick Kiln Workers
Extreme Poverty: Most brick kiln families survive on less than $2 a day, barely enough to meet basic needs.
Child Labor: Over 250,000 children in Pakistan alone are engaged in brick kiln work, robbed of the chance to attend school.
Lack of Access to Education: Due to financial constraints and the absence of nearby schools, children are forced to work alongside their parents, missing opportunities to break free from poverty.
Debt Bondage: Families often fall into debt traps, working endlessly to repay advances given by kiln owners, which keeps them enslaved for generations.
